Our expertise as podiatrists and sports specialists at ALP we analyse running form to identify poor or incorrect technique. Although there is some debate and controversy about running technique, having studied the subject at Masters level we offer advice that is evidence based and effective. Many specialists consider good running technique vital for athletes wishing to improve their running times; be it from running more effectively or from preventing recurrent injury which can blight any training programme.

We will analyse your technique and offer advice on mistakes and how to correct them.  Good running style depends on your overall posture, head position, arm swing, pelvic alignment, leg positions and foot strike, as well as stride length, cadence and vertical oscillations.  This process can only be made in conjunction with a biomechanical examination.  During this process we will discuss footwear and the merits of foot orthoses.
